STONEHENGE

From your accommodation we travel to Stonehenge, where we visit the Stones* themselves and wonder at the enormity of the task of transporting these stones and placing them so precisely.

Take the opportunity to work out the many theories about why the stones are placed where they are and their purpose over time.

*NB We are unable to access the Stones Inner Circle

After Stonehenge we head to Windsor, stopping at a village pub for lunch on the way

WINDSOR CASTLE

At Windsor Castle we explore the longest continually occupied castle in the world. Tour the State Apartments, stroll around the Castle precinct and see the beautiful St George's chapel where HM the late Queen Elizabeth II is buried alongside her husband, mother, father and sister.

Windsor Castle is closed to the public for investitures on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
