Hottest Vertical Challenge in Town

Whilst the fervour of New Year’s resolutions is still upon you here’s another one to bring a rush of blood to the head. Sign up now for the Vertical Rush – no, not something you take, it’s something you do!

Vertical Rush is part of the international Vertical World Circuit, a network of nine tower-running events across the globe. Taking place on March 1st (shades of Mad March Hares) Vertical Rush is a race up Tower 42, the second tallest building in the City of London.

Sign up now for one of London’s great annual charity events up all 920 steps in aid of housing and homelessness charity Shelter.

The views from the top are magnificent and there is a celebratory reception afterwards, presumably held on the 42nd floor therefore only for those well deserving cases that actually complete the challenge.

Entrants must pledge to raise at least £165 (individuals), £750 (teams of five), or £450 (relay teams of three). Registration fees also apply (£35/£175/£105 respectively).

Aim high y’all, it could be The Shard next year!!

Kent Spitfire over Downton Abbey

Yes,  it’s back and we’re loving it and delighted that the series has done so well in the Emmy Awards – congratulations especially to Dame Maggie Smith. Equally delighted that we have unearthed  a link with Kent!

The Kent Spitfire will be flying over the real Downton Abbey, that is Highclere Castle, Berkshire celebrating the prestigious Help for Heroes event to be held there on Sunday October 16, 2011. The charity event is being hosted by Lady Carnarvon, the current owner of Highclere (the one who picks up the maintenance bills – just imagine the noughts!)

Many of the Downton Abbey  cast will be attending the event. Put the date in your diary now to relive a little bit of the past – which side of the green baize door would you have been – hostess or housemaid?
